Career & Technical Education

The mission of the Utah County Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is to “provide a quality early-college education to a diverse student population emphasizing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and an associate degree in a safe, supportive, dual-campus environment.” UCAS has an unconventional educational opportunity for high school students who are greatly motivated. We are committed to preparing students with 21st Century skills by providing high quality educational opportunities through a curriculum that emphasizes problem-solving skills needed for employment in a STEM field and essential for interpersonal relationships. UCAS works closely with Utah Valley University (UVU) allowing students who have the interests, ability, and desire to move through their formal schooling at an accelerated rate. Teachers are skilled in research-proven techniques for curriculum development and delivery. 

CTE Pathways at UCAS

  1. Computer Sciences Programming and Software Development partnered with UVU.
  2. Web Development partnered with UVU.
  3. Engineering (Mechatronics specifically) partnered with UVU
  4. Nursing pathway. Students who show a desire to follow this pathway and earn a 3.85 will be granted admission to UVU's nursing RN program.
