Mrs. Cannon was born and raised in Rexburg, Idaho, where her mother and father were both teachers.  She currently lives in Provo with her family, a golden retriever (Chester), a tabby cat (Suki) and two fish. She and her husband Doug have 4 children.  Two of her daughters attended UCAS and loved it.  Their family's side hobby is Hot air ballooning.  They love being together and are all important team members of their hot air balloon company...Lucky Star.  They fly all year round and have enjoyed celebrating many proposals, bucket lists, birthdays etc.  Yes, if you see them out flying, please honk and wave and say hello!

There is a lot of music in their home where piano, cello, violin and guitars are often heard, along with lots of random singing.  

Mrs. Cannon taught at BYU for 5 years and at UVU for 9 years in their math departments as well as working in and running their math labs.  She decided to return to teaching when her oldest daughter was attending UCAS and her son was in school full time.  She loved the UCAS model and accepted a position teaching math at UCAS where she loves the students and shares her passion for problem solving and mathematics.
